Windows 10 doesn't delete pirated copies of games and likely never will. That whole rumour came from a change in the Windows 10 license agreement. Windows security updates often update Windows Defender, so that could be the culprit.

The only DRM on this game is the standard Steam DRM, so that would not effect the game. I am on Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit (entirely up-to-date), use Avast for my antivirus, and still have entire game on my machine. I tested the game and it ran fine (well, as good as the Steam version has ever run).
